Chelsea sign Nigerian-born Super Eagles prospect, Tosin Adarabioyo

Chelsea have confirmed the signing of Fulham defender Tosin Adarabioyo on a free transfer, with the 26-year-old joining the English Premiership side on a four-year contract.

Nigerian-born Adarabioyo will join Chelsea on a free transfer when his contract with Fulham officially expires at the end of June.

Adarabioyo, who represented England as a youth international in the Under-16 and under-19 category, is still also eligible to represent Nigerian senior national team through descent.

According to the BBC, the defender is understood to be making the move in order to play in Europe as Chelsea will play in next season’s Europa Conference League.

“Chelsea is a huge club and this is a full-circle moment for me. I was born three miles away from Stamford Bridge and made my professional debut there.

“I’m very excited and looking forward to helping push the club in the direction we want to go,” Adarabioyo said after signing for the Blues.

The 26-year-old defender made 20 appearances for Fulham in the 2023/24 English Premier League season, scoring two goals.
