What’s Cooking: Billionaire Otedola Hosts Afrobeats Stars, Wizkid, Burna Boy

Nigerian billionaire businessman, Femi Otedola, recently hosted Afrobeats stars Wizkid and Burna Boy at his home in Lagos, Nigeria.
In a post on his X handle on Wednesday, Otedola, Chairman of Geregu Power Plc, wrote, “A true privilege to host some of our biggest music icons @wizkidayo @burnaboy at my Lagos home. Always inspiring to share ideas and celebrate the global movement that is Afrobeats …F.Ote.”
Burna Boy and Wizkid, two of Nigeria’s biggest Afrobeats exports, with both winning the coveted Grammy awards in 2021, have had spats in the past.
Otedola is no stranger to Afrobeats, with his famous daughter, DJ Cuppy, making global waves for herself as an artiste, a disc jockey and music producer.
Cuppy has been effusive of her father’s support of her music career and endeavours.
“I am honored and blessed to have a father as hardworking as mine. Despite building my own “Cuppy” empire, the truth is that many of the privileges I enjoy are purely due to @realFemiOtedola’s blood, sweat, and tears over the years. My only prayer is to one day be able to give my own children at least half the love and generosity I’ve received,” she tweeted in May 2021.
